Caring Institutions

Social, economic and political institutions are social entities, that shape the actions of people, but are also shaped by people. For institutions to become caring institutions, they must be designed in such a way that they support a caring economy and society. Joan Tronto even believes that the existing institutions “no longer fit with our modes of caring and need to be revolutionized” (Tronto 2013, p. 13; cf. Engster 2007, p. 123; see also caring revolution). Part of the caring institutions are caring organizations.
