Queer Care, Queering Care

The traditional forms of living and households that are often foregrounded in care debates e.g., couple households with children, in which one adult works full-time and the other part time, must be questioned in terms of their heteronormativity and to expand them in such a way that all forms of life and households are perceived and households as equal and that all people, regardless of their gender identity and sexual orientation are equally well provided for. An important topic in queer care is trans care, i.e. care for and by trans people of all ages (cf. Appenroth/Castro Varela 2019).
