All unpaid care and suppoert activities carried out in the private household are referred to as reproductive labor in the traditional Marxist-feminist context. It is particularly important to label this as work, which should be recognized as such even without remuneration. This highlights the regenerative activities necessary for paid productive work in order to maintain the workforce. In social reproduction theory, paid care work is also counted as social reproduction (cf. Bhattacharya 2017).
