Logic of Care

The logic of care is based on people’s existential care needs and focuses on their fulfillment. Annemarie Mol (2008) develops the logic of care in distinction to the logic of choice, because for her the central question is “whether people are able to make choices or not” (ibid.: 7). Others contrast the logic of care with the logic of market and competition (cf. e.g. Wichterich 2013: 69; Habermann 2016).
