“Caring provisioning outlines a course of action that is a prerequisite for people to live and live well. It is geared towards the goal of provision and understands care for people as a motivation for action. Caring provision-oriented action can be generalized in the sense that we want everyone to act in this way, whereas this does not apply to actions that are oriented solely towards personal gain or profit maximization, for example. This is because all people depend on others not acting solely in their own interests, otherwise societies would not be viable. However, the right balance between too much and too little care has not yet been determined; it requires knowledge of human nature, empathy, and good judgment.” (Knobloch 2019: 21).
