All societies are based on an implicit care contract, which is part of the social contract. This is because every society depends on people being cared for and nurtured – at least as infants and during childhood. In order to create this contract of care gender-just and sustainable, the gender-specific and further intersectional attributions of child-rearing, care and nursing tasks must be overcome.
