In English, the term ‘policies’ refers to the political process and the associated strategies. Caring policies are therefore understood as the path to the development of caring politics. The path itself should also be carefully designed, and care mainstreaming can be helpful in this regard. In contrast to care policies, which describe care regimes, caring policies focus more strongly on future-oriented design.
