Care policy(ies) refers to the care structure established in a country with its concrete policy measures and instruments. This includes the entire care infrastructure characterizing the care regime at the macro level as well as the provision of care services at the meso and micro levels (cf. Theobald 2022; see also Theobald 2008, 2014). Based on the care policies in a country, for example, with respect to family care work for the elderly or on non-familial care, typologies can be developed and international differences can be worked out by comparing countries (cf. Eggers et al. 2022).
