Caring Commons

By understanding care as commons, i.e. as a shared ressource and common value, care needs and care work are self-managed and organized beyond the four sectors of the care diamond (state, market, non-profit organizations, households). In this context, care is also the guiding principle of action. Commons are thus understood not as goods or resources, but as social relations between commoners who create the caring commons only in the process of commoning care. The size and scope of the caring commons can vary greatly (cf. Federici 2019; Dengler/Lang 2019, 2022; Dengler 2022).
