Care-based Epistemology

A care-based epistemology of science is developed by Vrinda Dalmiya in her book “Caring to Know” (2016). According to this theory, personal experiences of care as care givers and care receivers represent the epistemological foundations. Furthermore, it is a matter of not artificially separating knowledge and caring from each other. Accordingly, the understanding of knowledge comprises concrete and subjective elements, which reject androcentric thinking and knowledge. In the future, this can be continued in the sense of Caring Sciences (see Kleinert 2022).
