Care Struggles

Care struggles are labor disputes in paid care work, especially in the fields of care of the sick and elderly, care for the disabled, and social and educational services in daycare of daycare centers, but also in other professions of social work. In this context working conditions in care work are discussed and criticized, and efforts are made to improve them (cf. improvement (cf. Artus et al. 2017). One form of care struggles are (union-supported) caregiver strikes. Care struggles are also supported by those who are regular care givers (patients, children, or their parents) or potentially in the future (relatives).
